Round 2 Zhuhai Top 3 Drivers Quotes

GT3

1stPlace: KINGS Racing

Wang Liang: Our team executed a perfect strategy to lift us to the top of the step. My partner did a fantastic job so many thanks to him too.

Will Bamber:It was a good race today. My partner did very well in his stint and we worked well together, even though this is our first partnership. Happy to take the win today and thanks again to KINGS for the opportunity.

2ndPlace: TSRT Tianshi Racing

David Chen: I think both Michael and I did the best we could today. Our pit stop wasn’t perfect and we lost some time there. Hopefully this issue will be addressed before the next race.

Michael Choy: I was fighting pretty hard for positions with the #2 AMG but it was a clean race and I am pleased with my performance today.

3rdPlace: JRM

Li Chao: I was a little bit unlucky in my stint. Our car wasn’t all that suited to the Zhuhai track and I spun when making contact with another car. Under this circumstance, finishing on the podium was a good result for me.

Chris van der Drift: I thought I had some really good pace but the Ferrari behind caught up with me out of nowhere. I tried to defend but he still went past me after a few laps.

Am/AM Winner: JRM

Min Heng: this is my first time racing in GT3 and it was good results for the team.

Li Jiaqi: we were in much better form than yesterday, having done a bit more homework on ourselves, the car and strategies. The last corner for me is by far the most challenging; you need both skills and guts to get through it.

GTC Class

1stPlace: Xtreme Motorsports

Thomas Ashton: Two wins and a podium – not a bad way to start the season. I hope this continues into the other rounds.

Liu Kai: I owe this win to the team. They’ve been doing their best trying to get me up to speed with the car and with the set up. I haven’t had any GT racing experience before so this is the best I can hope for.

2ndPlace: D2 Racing

CJ Huang: I carried 50kg of success ballast in the car today, so our straight-line speed has gone down quite significantly, as well as brake performance. Towards the second half of the race our tyres were starting to wear out too. I tried to stay in front but others were quicker than me.

3rdPlace: Xtreme Motorsports

Dominic Ang: The Michelin tyres were a good match for our car, and our lap times were pretty competitive. Unfortunate we didn’t have enough time to fight for a higher position because of the red flag. Many thanks to the team and again to Bo for another great performance today.

Song Bo: the success ballast started to affect the brake about five or six laps in. Because I’m running in the first stint, I needed to protect the tyres and brakes so that my teammate can have a well functioning car in his stint. I wasn’t feeling so well today so wasn’t at the top of my game.

GT4 Class

1stPlace: China Equity AMR

Jack Mitchell: the Safety Car restart was pretty challenging, as I had a lot of lapped cars trying to unlap themselves on the grid. It was good to take the team’s first win of the season.

Ryan Liu:the success ballast had some effect on performance and it took some time to figure out the best way to protect the car.

2ndPlace & AM/AM Winner: Winning Team

Dong Liang: we are very happy with the results today. This is really the best we could achieve under the circumstance.

David McIntyre: there were some damages to the car in the first few laps so I spend a bit of time trying to figure out the best way to work around it. And when I did I got the positions back.

3rdPlace: Team Lotus

Eric Wong: Pretty lucky for us today with the Safety Car, and my teammate and I showed good pace. Today’s results were a combination of luck and effort.

Sam Lok: The car had improved quite a lot over the weekend, and I am happy to finish on the podium today.
