China GT to be joined by Radical Challenge Series in Shanghai
China GT is pleased to announce that it will share the race track with Radical Challenge Series in the upcoming Shanghai race weekend on 29-30 June, featuring the iconic British race car makers’ popular SR1 and SR3 models.
The China chapter of the Radical Challenge Series is started by Xtreme Motorsport, who also entered four cars into the 2019 China GT contention, including two Radical RXC Turbo’s. The Series has two classes sharing the grid, the SuperSport and the ClubSport class, and a race weekend consists of two 20-minute sessions of qualifying, and two rounds of races that are 30 minute each.
Radical Challenge Series is an ideal entry level platform for prototype racing. The SuperSport class is RWD car capable of churning out 250 hp, whereas the ClubSport class car has 50 hp less power output. The Radical race cars shares similar chassis and weight geometrics with formula cars, and have excellent power to weight ratio, optimised aero and downforce. It is also equipped with FIA standard safety features. It is a great bit of start-up kit for an aspiring driver.
Round 5 & 6 of the 2019 China GT Championship will take place at the SAIC International Circuit from 28 to 30 June. Stay tuned to our official Facebook (@ChinaGTChampionship), Twitter (@OfficialChinaGT) and instagram (@ChinaGTChampionship) for more news.
