Xu Jia, KINGS Racing: We are facing strong competition this year! With SF Racing and a number of other top teams joining China GT, we need to work extra hard as reigning champion.

Will Bamber, KINGS Racing: It feels good to be back! I am filling in for Martin [Rump] this weekend. Zhuhai is a fun track, and it is my first experience in an R8. The KINGS guys did a good job setting up the car since the Beijing test but of course it all depends on conditions on weekend. I am looking forward to working with my new partner, have good time and get good results.

Li Chao, JRM: We came to Zhuhai early to get the prep going head of time. We have an upgrade on our kit this year so the cars are looking strong. We would love to take the title challenge to our opponents this year.

Li Jiaqi, JRM: I just wanted to get back into the game during testing, and work on strategies. We will aim to go on the podium this weekend and start getting some points.

Min Heng, JRM: This is my first experience driving a GT3 car so that was quite exciting. It is more pleasant to drive than a GTC, with quite a lot more downforce. Our goal is to win the GT3 championship for the Am/Am drivers’ category.

Huang Hsi Chan, D2 Racing:I haven’t sat in this car for about half a year so still plenty I need to relearn about the car. So that’s what I’ve been doing at today’s session, plus getting used to the new tyres. Of course we’re going for the championship title. I feel like I know the track pretty well so I might try some more aggressive approaches this time around.

Andrea Caldarelli, SF Racing: This is my first time at China GT. I am still adapting but it’s all going well. We hope to score podium, but naturally our target is to win. For China GT is it important that both pro and am drivers are competitive for us to put on a strong performance.

Jack Mitchell, China Equity AMR: This is my first time at this track so I am still learning it. It has also been awhile since I drove in this car so need to spend some time to get up to speed. Our focus is on the overall championship, so we need to stay consistent and finish with as many points as possible.

Liu Zexuan, China Equity AMR: The weather here is very unpredictable in Zhuhai but that won’t be a problem for us. I have tested our Aston Martin in Sepang, so I already have a good feel of the car. And the driver aids don’t hurt either.

Yuan Tingting, China Equity AMR: I am flying solo this weekend. Our car suffered some pretty serious damage yesterday but I think we might be able to make practice tomorrow. I haven’t had much time with the car lately but I hope to put on a decent performance for the team and sponsors this weekend.

Guan Fangyuan, TSRT Racing: This is my first time fielding an R8 LMS Cup and I am having quite a lot of fun. Obviously we’re hoping for good results this weekend but if not podium, I’d like to beat my personal record at least.

Billy Lo, TSRT Racing: I know this track like the back of my hand but I haven’t driven the R8 before. So the challenge lies with getting to know the car and get up to speed as soon as I can.

Liu Kai, TSRT Racing:I am still quite giddy about driving the Radical RXC V6 Turbo, which is a new experience for me! The car has a lot of grip and very interesting to handle. I have raced in Zhuhai before but obviously was doing formula cars before so there’s quite a lot to learn: braking point, where to push, your reference point etc. I hope to get on the top step this weekend.

Daniel Lu, R+ Racing: I’ve been practicing this track on simulator but couldn’t really get too much time in because it’s too slippery.

Wang Tao, R+ Racing: I have learned a lot from Daniel and made some progress myself over the past weeks.

Pan Chao, R+ Racing: I tested in an Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in Beijing a few weeks back but I am making the switch to Lamborghini this weekend. So there’s much to learn and take note of.

Benjamin Rouget, Winning Team: We’ve got plenty of preparation underway. The new McLaren just arrived last night so we have quite a bit training to do. Raph is a great and eager learner and is improving quickly. The car feels great and we have a good set up for the wet conditions. We don’t want to put too much pressure on our drivers, so the goal is to improve and gain experience.

Raph Lai, Winning Team: This is my first attempt at GT racing. I’ve always loved cars but couldn’t get too much time doing what I love because of my work. At this stage I have enough set up to go into motor racing, and I have found myself a great partner in Benjamin to show me the ropes. I am simply trying to get used to the car and improve my performance – no serious targets for the weekend!

Eric Wong, Team Lotus: We are fielding three cars again this season but hopefully we could achieve better results than 2017. We are getting more competition this year, but we are looking forward to the challenge.

James Tang, TRC Team: We spent the day figuring out our setting and driving style to suit the Michelin tyres. I am very happy to see professional drivers in China GT, but more so because I am a Chinese driver in a Chinese Championship. I hope to do well this weekend and make a name for our team.

Andy Yan, TRC Team: We are still getting used to this car, which is a brand new experience for us. I think the GT4 car I am driving this season is pretty much on par with the GTC I had in 2016 in terms of performance. I am thrilled to compete against other drivers and see where we stand.

Chen Junhua, Fist Team AAI: The car feels good and we’ve done plenty to get ready for the weekend. Loving the GT4 grid this year! Lots of competition and excitement ahead. Let’s go get our first podium.
