China GT GTC Class: Xtreme Motorsports are the Comeback Kings

Release date / 2017-05-24

The Radical Rxc of Xtreme Motorsports got the Beijing weekend of the China GT Championship off to a flying start by claiming second place in the second round of races.

In the first round, Xtreme Motorsports’ Radical Rxc V6 put in an impressive performance on the tracks of the Beijing Goldenport Motor Park. Unfortunately, during the second half of the race, they faced mechanical problems and were forced to retire.

In round two, Ling Kang and Xu Wei’s chances at the helm of the Radical Rxc V6 were seriously hindered by the mechanical failure in the previous round, starting last and severe BoP restrictions. Despite a minor infraction which led to a pit lane drive through penalty, the Radical Rxc V6 still took on the race with all guns blazing. Despite their mistakes, they still drew attention for their nimble handling of the Radical Rxc V6 on the many winding and narrow sections of the Beijing Goldenport track. Ling Kang and Xu Wei used the advantages of the Radical Rxc V6 to their fullest and didn’t let a single opportunity to advance pass them by. Although they started the race in last place, they soon fought their way to fourth. One of the most exciting aspects of motor racing is that you’re not a true winner until the moment you rush past the chequered flag in the last moments of the race. During the last lap of round two, the last GTC race of the day came to a dramatic conclusion, with cars two and three suddenly being involved in an accident. Luckily, the quick reflexes of the Radical Rxc V6’s driver saved it from being involved in the incident, instead leaving them to race forward and snatch second place. After an intense struggle, Ling Kang and Xu Wei completely turned their fortunes around, finally finishing second overall, despite their original last place start.

Xtreme Motorsports got off to a flying start at the Beijing leg of the 2017 China GT, raking in the points and making them a team to watch in future races!
